Groups: Graveyard and Maintenance Team

A warm welcome, It's not all work, we do have a laugh, and a chat and you could lose an ounce or two. We meet normally on the last Saturday of the month in the graveyard, Coley Road, opposite the church gates. Some work in the graveyard is done by Relatives, friends and descendants of the deceased do some work in the graveyard. We try to supplement their work by cutting the grass, clearing the paths and general clearing work in parts of the graveyard that otherwise would not get touched.

“I go to help maintain the graveyard and make it a place (or try to) where those who have lost a loved one can visit and know God’s peace.”

“I feel that I am doing my bit to keep the graveyard tidy. I get satisfaction when after 2 hours work, enjoying the company of the rest of the group, being active out in the fresh air I can see an improvement to a section of the graveyard.  Although in the growing season this improvement may not last until the next visit”.

The team would be delighted if you could join them. Just come along bringing gardening tools if you have them. Everyone is welcome.
