Mara is bordered to the north by Kenya, by the State of Arusha to the east, the State of Shinyanga and
Mwanza to the south and by Lake Victoria to the west.
The village is located near the shore of Lake Victoria about 100km from Musoma Town and about 35km from Bunda Town. The
village covers an area of 24 square kilometers and has a population of around 18,000 people,
with approximately 3,000 households.
